Supermodel Carre Otis Opens Up About Trauma and Recovery

What an amazing show last night! Carre Otis really surprised me: as a supermodel with great celebrity status and a slew of successful modeling and film projects under her belt, I didn’t expect to feel an enormous connection to this guest. And then, Carre came on the show with such grace, humility, humor, consciousness and connection I was stunned — and happily surprised. What a phenomenal, real and genuine soul.

In our candid conversation we covered such topics as:

  • Domestic violence, anorexia and trauma
  • Where hope and belief come from
  • The importance of letting go of control
  • How to overcome the fear of letting go of control
  • What it means to be free of the past

I felt like I could have talked to her for a few more hours, we had to much to say. You can listen to the full interview between Michele Rosenthal and Carre Otis here.

Very good to listen to this! I endured incest at age 6, then 7 rapes, 12 years domestic violence in a marriage. I am healing and have helped many. I too suffered with an eating disorder. No more medications needed for my multiples and mania, bipolar anymore, etc. I gave it to Jesus at age 6 and even being a Catholic and born a Psychic, Indian, I combined all I could gather and study, to get to the point that I have come to. I have more wisdom, I am a courageous woman in peace, now and I am able to laugh, cry and help others, thus helping myself. Yes! I agree! We heal in a community! Not in isolation! Don’t hide the abuse and trauma! Don’t hold it as a secret! Let it out and heal! Recovery is possible for me! Thank you, God bless. Love, Light and Happiness, Vanessa
